When a student takes a class or tutoring session at LGS, we will share their username and profile with the teacher in order for them to teach those students. The teacher is obliged to respect the privacy of the student. The teacher has limited authorization to use this information only for communication related to LGS or for transactions facilitated by LGS. PARTICIPATION IN A CLASS OR A TUTORING SESSION
At LGS, tutoring sessions are different from a traditional class, as they are offered as a space where the teacher provides personalized support and accompaniment to the student. Rather than following a rigid teaching structure, tutoring sessions are designed to meet the individual needs of each student, giving them the opportunity to address their doubts, delve deeper into the topics they find most challenging, and receive specific guidance to improve their learning.
During the tutoring sessions, teachers provide support to students in the following ways:
Elementary
Middle y High School
The tutoring sessions are given at the request of the student depending on the chosen study plan. The tutoring sessions are not an English course, for which the student must strengthen their knowledge on their own and with the support of the representative, tutor or guardian.
CANCELLATION OF TUTORING SESSIONS
The student may cancel the scheduled tutoring session according to the following parameters:
Failure to cancel the tutoring session according to the above parameters may result in the following penalties:
LGS does not offer English as a second language, however, it does provide elective courses such as ESL and language training support through a platform called Starfall for Elementary students. These courses do not include tutoring sessions.
On the other hand, for Middle and High School students, English language learning courses are offered through an affiliated institution called LATAM Bilingual Institute, which has different costs, programs and conditions than those established at LGS.
All personalized tutoring sessions will be recorded by our school and stored in our database for quality, support or evidence purposes, such sessions will not be published or used by our school without the due knowledge of the CONTRACT HOLDER or legal representative of the student. It is at the discretion of the student’s legal representative or CONTRACT HOLDER whether or not they turn on the camera during the counseling session.
PUBLICATION OF SPECIAL ACTIVITIES
LGS can use the image rights of the students/parents collected in photos and videos, during special activities, workshops, group dynamics, etc, and publish them through any of our social networks.

If the Middle and High School student takes the entire program in Spanish, the subjects/credits of English and Language Arts are exclusively in English and necessary to obtain the degree, for this reason these courses cannot be taken in another language.
The Middle and High School programs in Spanish may contain support resources such as bibliographies, audiovisuals, among others, in English, these resources are optional, and are not necessary for understanding or solving course evaluations in Spanish.
Given the above distinction, we present the following:
SECOND. – ELEMENTARY: is the academic program for students enrolled in educational levels from grades K to 5, and seeks to provide the necessary knowledge so that students can enter the MIDDLE SCHOOL program.
To complete the academic program, the student must take and pass a total of 36 subjects.
THIRD. – Characteristics of the program: the service provided for the ELEMENTARY academic program has the following characteristics:
FOURTH. – MIDDLE SCHOOL: is the academic program for students enrolled in educational levels from 6th to 8th grade, and seeks to provide the necessary knowledge so that students can enter the HIGH SCHOOL program.

Note: It is important to point out that if the student has already requested the two improvements allowed during the course, he/she will not be able to do it again and, in case he/she does not achieve the passing grade, he/she will have to repeat the subject in its entirety.
4.1 After repeating the course and passing the course, the student must participate in a DBA (Discussion-Based Assessment) with the professor. The purpose of this interaction is for the student to explain and demonstrate the knowledge acquired during the course. In this process, the professor has the power to ask random questions related to any unit of the subject matter to ensure that the student really understands the material and is not just doing homework and exams without understanding the content.
6.1 First time taking the exam: The student will take an exam for the first time as part of the evaluation process. If the student successfully passes this exam, he/she will be allowed to advance to the next subject or course.
6.2 Second time taking the exam: If the student does not pass the exam on his/her first attempt, he/she will be given a maximum period of one week to review and revise the course content in order to improve his/her understanding and preparation. At the end of the one-week recovery period, the student will have the opportunity to retake the exam. If he/she is able to pass the exam on this second occasion, he/she will be allowed to advance to the next subject.
6.3 Final grade of the subject: If the student passes the exam on the first attempt, the final grade of the subject will be the grade he/she obtained when completing the course content. On the other hand, if the student passes the exam on the second attempt, the final grade for the subject will be the grade he/she obtained as the final result on his/her exam.
6.4 Repetition of the subject: If the student does not pass the exam on the second opportunity, it will be necessary for him/her to repeat the same subject. This implies that the student must retake and complete the contents and requirements of the subject in its entirety as stipulated in numeral 4.1 of this section.
SIXTH. – HIGH SCHOOL (18 credits): is the academic program for students enrolled in academic levels between grades 9 and 12, designed to provide students with the possibility of entering a military branch or applying for a job in the United States. This implies that the student must retake and complete the contents and requirements of the subject in its entirety as stipulated in numeral 4.1 of this section.
At the end of the program, the student will receive a high school diploma that will be valid to enter a military branch, apply for a job or apply to a university in Latin America. However, if the student intends to enter a university in the United States, it will be necessary to take and pass the 18-credit program in English. Otherwise, the university will require additional documentation, such as the TOEFL test or other requirements that our school cannot provide.
In the event that a student decides to withdraw from LGS before completing 18 credits and aspires to enter a college or university in the United States or another non-Spanish speaking country, it is recommended that the courses taken at LGS be completed in English. In this way, it will be more likely that the academic institution of destination will recognize and accept the credits earned in our program. However, the final decision will be at the discretion of the receiving institution.

7.It is not possible to conclude the credit or course in a period of less than 25 days. This means that the student must take a minimum of 25 days to complete all the activities and requirements of the course. In the event that a student finishes before the established deadline, he/she will undergo an evaluation with a teacher. The objective of this evaluation is to verify if the student has acquired the required knowledge and skills according to the course standards.

At the end of the program, the student will receive a High School Diploma that can be used to enter a military branch, opt for a job or apply to a university in Latin America (depending on the requirements of the country) or the United States. If the student wishes to enter higher education in the United States, he/she must take the credits in English. Otherwise, the university will request more documentation such as the TOEFL test or others that are not delivered by our school.
If the student withdraws from LGS before completing the 24 credits and wishes to enter a school in the United States or another non-Spanish speaking country, it is recommended that the LGS courses be taken in English. If this is not the case, it is up to the academic institution to which the student will apply whether or not to accept the courses taken and approved by LGS.
TENTH. – ACCELERATED HIGH SCHOOL: is the academic program for students enrolled in grades 9 to 12, designed to provide students with the opportunity to enter a military branch or apply for a job. Note: We recommend selecting credits carefully before purchasing them to ensure that they fit the student’s learning needs. If you have any questions or concerns about your choice of subjects, please do not hesitate to contact our team.
Upon completion and approval of the credits, the student will receive a transcript detailing the credits completed and approved with their respective grades. If the student wishes to transfer our credits to another academic institution, he/she must previously confirm if they are accepted in this institution.
FOURTEENTH – CHARACTERISTICS COMMON TO ALL ACADEMIC PROGRAMS: the academic programs of ELEMENTARY, MIDDLE SCHOOL and HIGH SCHOOL (18-24 CREDITS), ACCELERATED HIGH SCHOOL AND INDIVIDUAL CREDITS have the following common characteristics:
If THE CONTRACT HOLDER chooses the content of a certain subject and/or credit in a certain language and later wishes to change to another language, it will be necessary for them to complete the subject they are currently taking in the originally selected language. If they do not do so, they will have to restart the course from the beginning in the new language.
FIFTEENTH – ADDITIONAL COURSES: A student enrolled in any of the LGS programs may take additional courses under the following conditions:

SIXTEENTH – CREDIT VALIDATION: Students interested in enrolling in any of the academic programs offered by LATAM GLOBAL SCHOOL and who have previously approved academic levels in institutions other than the LGS educational system, must present their pre-existing academic records to the LATAM GLOBAL SCHOOL credit evaluation and validation committee. This committee will conduct a thorough review of the credits and levels obtained, and prior to the student’s enrollment, will evaluate, weigh and validate the credits, thus determining the academic level to which the student may enter and the credits to be taken.
Given the personalized nature of the educational service of LATAM GLOBAL SCHOOL, students may request the one that suits them better, either at more advanced levels or lower than the one in which they are enrolled.
If a student enters the school with the majority of credits approved in the High School program, in order to graduate from LGS said student must take a minimum of 6 credits to obtain the High School diploma.
If a student enters the High School program and withdraws before completing 24 credits, LGS will not approve credits homologated through our school that come from another institution.
To approve a school grade at LGS, the student must take and pass a total of 6 subjects or credits. Each grade has 4 core subjects/credits and 2 elective subjects/credits.
III. THE OPERATIONAL COMPONENT
SEVENTEENTH – SUSPENSION: the suspension or postponement of the monthly payment of any of the LATAM GLOBAL SCHOOL’s academic programs may occur for any of the following causes:
The Admissions Department has the authority and flexibility to require supporting documents as appropriate based on the individual circumstances of each case. We want to clarify that only requests with valid justification will be considered.
In the case of an absence of less than 15 days and that is not covered by the types of absences stipulated by LGS, the student may proceed and request temporary suspension from the platform, but it is essential to understand that the responsibility for the monthly payment remains and must be fulfilled on the usual date.
In situations where the student needs to be absent for unjustified personal reasons, such as sports commitments, competitions, presentations, tournaments, etc., the freedom to be absent is still respected. This will not affect their access to the platform. During these periods, monthly fees must be paid as stipulated without exception.
Requests for temporary suspension for any of the reasons stated above should be sent to the email admissions@latamglobalschool.com
The request for vacation must be submitted to LATAM GLOBAL SCHOOL at least 5 business days in advance of the date considered as the start of the vacation. If the formal request is not sent, LGS will continue to charge the monthly payment of the purchased plan.
LATAM GLOBAL SCHOOL may suspend the service if the completion of the orientation course is not corroborated within 8 calendar days following the signing of the educational services contract by the student.
EIGHTEENTH – CANCELLATION OF THE PROGRAM: By THE CONTRACT HOLDER:
The cancellation of the program will result in the disabling of the student’s user code in THE PLATFORM and the academic mail, as well as the non-collection of the monthly payments after the withdrawal from the school.
If the cancellation is caused before the expiration of the payment month (cutoff date), THE CONTRACT HOLDER may request the reimbursement of money as indicated in the NINETEENTH clause.
If the student’s cancellation/withdrawal is never formally made as requested in the clause, no refund of monthly fees can be made.
On behalf of LATAM GLOBAL SCHOOL:
Expulsion is one of the sanctions that a student may be entitled to in the face of the omission or commission of any of the punishable behaviors contemplated in the code of good practices of LATAM GLOBAL SCHOOL.
When the cancellation is given on the occasion of the student’s expulsion, the school will not pay a refund of money.
ADMINISTRATIVE VACATIONS (WINTER BREAK)
NINETEENTH – ADMINISTRATIVE VACATIONS: The administrative staff, teachers and directors of LATAM Global School will have a break period during the last two weeks of December of each year. During this time, LGS staff will not be available to provide the usual support in areas such as personalized tutoring sessions, assignments grading, live classes, email and chat support, among others.
However, the platform will be available and students will be able to continue working on their courses autonomously during this time. They can submit their activities, take exams and advance in the platform independently.
Tutoring sessions will not be accumulated, transferred, or economically discounted during the mentioned recess time.
REFUND POLICY
TWENTIETH – REFUND POLICY: Students who have canceled their academic program with LATAM GLOBAL SCHOOL are entitled to a refund under the following circumstances:

If the CONTRACT HOLDER wishes to receive the certificates in physical format, he/she will assume the cost of sending the physical documentation from the main headquarters of LATAM GLOBAL SCHOOL to the place of destination and the stationery arranged by the school.
LGS is responsible for processing the delivery of documents such as diplomas, transcripts, certificates, apostilles, among others, to the physical correspondence address provided by the CONTRACT HOLDER. However, situations such as loss, delivery delay, etc., are not the responsibility of LGS since these fall directly on the mail company when the documentation is delivered to them. LGS will indicate which carrier will be used for such shipments, if the CONTRACT HOLDER wants to choose the carrier, the CONTRACT HOLDER will be fully responsible for any loss, delay, extra economic charges, etc.
No physical or digital certificate will be provided to students who are in arrears with the school and/or who do not have the documentation mentioned in the FIRST clause up to date.
The certificates must be requested to the email admissions@latamglobalschool.com
Additional Requirements of Universities or Educational Institutions: It is important to note that LATAM Global School (LGS) has no control over the specific requirements that may be demanded by universities or educational institutions for admission or validation of credits. In the event that an educational entity requires additional tests, extra subjects or any other requirements beyond our programs of study and documents provided, LGS assumes no responsibility for such requirements. Users should verify the requirements of each institution before making educational decisions based on our programs.
Changes in Validation Procedures: Our educational programs have the legal backing of the Department of Education of the State of Florida in the United States, and the degrees and documents issued by LGS are valid in countries that are part of the Hague Convention. However, LATAM GLOBAL SCHOOL assumes no responsibility in the event that the Department of Education or other territorial entities in any country make adjustments to their validation procedures or requirements, and then reject the validity of our transcripts and diplomas.
In this sense, it is the responsibility of both the student and his/her legal representative to keep updated about the requirements and processes in their respective countries.

If THE CONTRACT HOLDER pays the graduation fees in digital format, the documents that will be sent via email (in digital format) will be the diploma, transcript and transcript key (translated from English to Spanish), such documents may or may not be apostilled and notarized, everything will depend on the type of payment of graduation fees in digital format that THE CONTRACT HOLDER makes and requests.
We reserve the right to modify any of the steps described above, change and demand for documents and payment of graduation fees.
Physical graduation fee rates do not vary for delivery within or outside the U.S. or for pick-up at LGS offices.
DETAIL OF PLANS AND REGISTRATION
TWENTY-FOURTH – REGISTRATION: The CONTRACT HOLDER must pay a registration fee of $35 USD, which covers administrative and stationery costs. This amount is only paid once and covers the time that the student is active. If the student does not make the payment of two (2) continuous monthly payments and does not previously report the suspension of his or her platform for reasons described in our educational service contract and/or terms and conditions, upon resuming his or her studies, he or she must pay the registration fee again.

If THE CONTRACT HOLDER does not make the payment of their monthly fee on the corresponding payment due date, the student’s user code will be disabled in THE PLATFORM one day after the payment cut-off date.
In relation to the costs of our services, we offer the flexibility to make plan changes according to your individual needs. If THE CONTRACT HOLDER at any time wishes to change his/her monthly plan, he/she may do so by notifying the payment department at least three days prior to the cut-off date.
If THE CONTRACT HOLDER wishes to schedule an additional one-hour tutoring session in addition to those included in his/her current plan, he/she will have the option to purchase it for $25. To do so, the CONTRACT HOLDER must go to the payment department and complete the additional tutoring session purchase process.
You are permitted to request a change in the payment date or cutoff date of your payment plan a maximum of two times per calendar year. We recognize that circumstances may arise that require adjusting these dates, and we are willing to provide this flexibility in an effort to accommodate your individual needs.
CREDIT CARD DISCONNECTION:
CONTRACT HOLDER is required to provide LGS with sufficient advance notice if they wish to unlink a credit card from their account. In case of not receiving prior notification, the surcharges made in relation to the unlinked card will not be refunded in full. TECHNOLOGY REQUIREMENTS AND USE AT LGS
To ensure an optimal and effective educational experience for all of our students, it is necessary to establish certain minimum requirements regarding the technology needed to participate in our academic activities and programs.
Main Devices for Learning: Students must have a desktop computer or laptop as their primary tool for tutoring sessions, accessing materials, and learning platforms offered by our school. This requirement is established to ensure that students have the ability to interact effectively with educational resources, complete assigned tasks, and participate in online learning activities without technical limitations.
Use of Mobile Devices: We recognize the importance and convenience of mobile devices such as cell phones and tablets in today’s educational environment. These devices can be used as complementary support tools for learning, allowing access to readings, complementary material, and educational applications. However, it is important to note that these devices should not be considered as substitutes for the required computer or laptop, due to possible limitations in their functionality and capacity for certain academic and technical tasks.
Minimum Computer or Laptop Requirements: To ensure good performance in online educational activities, students’ computers or laptops must meet the following minimum requirements:
By enrolling in LGS, students and their representatives (in case of minors) accept and agree to comply with the technological requirements established to facilitate an effective and high quality learning environment for all.
It is important to note that the technology requirements specified above are subject to modifications and updates, depending on the advancement of technology, changes in online learning platforms and the educational needs of our institution.
RULES FOR ALL USERS
Students are expected to behave in the manner required in the Student Code of Conduct established in the handbook for parents and students, which you can request from our school. Appropriate behavior must be shown during school hours, extracurricular activities, or any activity in which school staff members are responsible for students. As well as making good use of the platform (LMS), academic mail and collaborative chats.
By signing this contract and/or making use of our services, the student and representative will be accepting:
SUSPENSION FOR CONTEMPT OF THE RULES OF USE
In-School Suspension (ISS)
An In-School Suspension (ISS) is a consequence that excludes students from tutoring and allows the student to reflect on their misbehavior. While suspended, students may not participate in any school-related activities such as live lessons, Gmail chats, Esports, or any other extracurricular activities. An ISS will not be considered an absence from school, therefore, students are required to complete all pending work on their own time in order to make-up for the lost time. This time will not be discounted in the monthly payment plan for tutoring sessions, which means, the full monthly payment must be paid even if the student is not attending the tutoring sessions.
The acts that can result in an ISS are:
More information on student conduct can be found in the Master LGS Policy Manual.
Out-of-School Suspension (OSS)
An out-of-school suspension is a consequence that excludes the student from using the platform and academic email for a period of time and gives the student time to reflect on their misconduct. Admissions will suspend the platform service for the given suspension time, however, parents have to continue paying for the current month. During suspension, students may not participate in any school-related activities such as live lessons, tutoring sessions, Gmail chats, Esports, or any other extracurricular activities. Out-of-school suspensions will be considered unexcused absences and the student will be required to make up all pending work at his/her own expense.
