Dual enrollment or concurrent enrollment are programs that give students the opportunity to study or earn college credit while in high school.

One of the advantages of being in a dual enrollment program is that students can interact with real university students, professors and staff, which generates an interaction prior to university life. It also allows students to better understand and adapt to the rigor of higher education.

This interaction makes them learn aspects that high school does not offer, strengthening the aspirations of the students, generating confidence in their academic success and improving their performance.

2 – Diversity of classes

Concurrent enrollment diversifies the academic program, making the student take courses that are not available in high school. This factor allows students to expand their knowledge.

When a student can earn credits while in high school, they develop greater confidence when choosing a career or college career.

In recent years, university enrollments have increased exponentially. Attending college is one of the largest and most expensive investments a person can make, especially in the United States.

A study by Teachers College of Columbia University found that “88% of students who were enrolled in a dual enrollment remained in college after high school, 46% of students who started in a technical and 64% % of university students obtained a university degree ”.
